Cinema e Vino: The penguin of my life - open air cinema at Parkside Studios, Offenbach - 2for1 tickets
With "Kino e Vino", cinema maker Daniel Brettschneider is once again presenting open-air cinema in the courtyard of Offenbach's Parkside Studios this summer. The lively summer edition of "Kino Kulinarisch" combines favorite wines with matching dishes and open-air cinema under a starry sky with a wonderful location.
Tom (Steve Coogan), a grumpy teacher, English through and through, comes to Buenos Aires in the 1970s to teach English at a boys' boarding school. In the midst of the unrest caused by the military coup, his pupils are also rebellious and unteachable. This doesn't make things any easier for Tom. But his life takes an unexpected turn one day when he saves the life of a penguin on an oil-polluted beach in Uruguay and is unable to get rid of it despite his best efforts. The penguin moves onto Tom's terrace, becomes a loyal friend and a trusted penguin for his pupils. Penguins are not only incredibly cute, they are also excellent listeners ...
"The Penguin of My Life" sensitively tells the true story of an unlikely friendship between humans and penguins. In the leading role of loner Tom Michell, multiple British Academy Film Award winner Steve Coogan strikes a very fine balance between cynicism and warmth of heart.
A Caprese skewer is included in the ticket price as an amuse-bouche. For prices between €12.50-14.50, there is grilled chicken breast on 7 herb taboulé with apple reduction and seasonal vegetables. For vegetarians, there is grilled eggplant with lavender honey instead of chicken. Rosemary and herb sour cream is served as a topping for both dishes. And of course, the much sought-after cheese platters are also available again.
