Opera Classica

With Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's masterpiece "The Magic Flute", Opera Classica is bringing one of the most famous, most performed and most visited operas in music history to the stage in the picturesque Taunus heights town of Lorch-Espenschied.

The huge success of the play is due in part to its varied scenery. The colorful, dazzling music combined with an exciting, fairytale-like plot has always exerted an irresistible fascination on the audience and makes this work so attractive, especially for children or opera beginners. Many melodies such as "Der Vogelfänger bin ich ja", "Dies Bildnis ist bezaubernd schön" or the Queen of the Night's famous aria "Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen" are popular and well-known all over the world, even among those who have never seen this opera before. The plot centers on the power struggle between the Queen of the Night and Sarastro, the High Priest of the Kingdom of the Sun. However, as in most fairy tales, good triumphs over evil in the end and the all-conquering power of love is particularly helpful in this story.

The audience can look forward to a performance with international vocal soloists, opera choir and orchestra. Colorful costumes and effective lighting do the rest.
