As the birthplace of the world-famous Brothers Grimm, Hanau is dedicating the Brothers Grimm Festival to its most famous sons and their works for the 41st time.

"The wind, the wind, the heavenly child" whispers in a thousand voices. He has seen so much, he has so much to tell: About Gretel and her brother Hansel, about evil and good, and about how the seemingly clear boundaries between the two are often blurred. Because nothing in this world is inherently one or the other - every person, every action has its motives and every decision has consequences. The two siblings also learn this on their exciting journey into the deep, deep forest. But when they fall into the clutches of the witch, they soon have to make an important decision themselves about what is right and what is wrong.

This new interpretation by Jan Radermacher and Timo Riegelsberger gives the classic fairy tale a new depth, questions the traditional image of good and evil and shows that the world is not made up of simple opposites.
