In "PEER GYNT - The Dream of the Self", the "Norwegian Faust" by Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906), the stuff that dreams are made of comes to life and becomes tangible for the audience. What is the meaning of life? Who am I? And if so, how many? THE primal questions of man. This is exactly what PEER GYNT is about: philosophy meets modern popular theater. Three actresses slip simultaneously into the role of the impoverished young farmer's son Peer, who lives through a career of lies and deceit, prosperity and madness, fall and resurrection. With live music, colorful costume changes in front of the audience and a changeable stage set, the NN Theater takes the audience into the confines of a Norwegian village community, into the realm of the trolls, on a great transatlantic voyage, into the Wild West and even into a mental hospital. The story resembles the peeling of an onion, in which a mirror is suddenly held up to the viewer with relish. Who knows in which version you yourself will emerge from the performance, which layer will be revealed through humor and amazement?
